Description
This image is a digital photograph depicting a wide angle view of the Swann Memorial Fountain located on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. A popular tourist destination and considered one of the most beautiful places in the city, the fountain was built in Logan Circle by sculptor Alexander Stirling Calder to depict a graceful aerial water ballet. Also known as the Fountain of the Three Rivers, the sculpture honors the area's three major streams, the Delaware, Schuykill and the Wissahickon. The central jet of the fountain propels water 50 feet (15 meters) high. During the warm months, swimming in the fountain is a long-standing Philadelphia tradition.
