In Greek mythology, iris is the name of the goddess of the rainbow. The iris flower has been a symbol of monarchs and royal families throughout history. The Bourbon kings of France, including Louis XIV, placed the symbol on banners on what we know as the long famous fleur-de-lis. I grew this beautiful flower in my garden and am looking forward to many more blooms in years to come as the plant matures.
Hi there! Hope you are enjoying visiting my galleries and thanks for stopping by! Here's some information about me and my journey as an artist. My fascination with creating art began as a child at the age of five, drawing with oil pastels and painting with acrylics. I still recall the great fun I had playing with paint at the easel in kindergarten, just wanting that opportunity to go on forever. Thankfully I have never lost the thrill of having a paint brush in my hand. As a young person, I took art classes throughout elementary and high school, and then continued with classes in drawing, painting and photography at the college level (Boston University, Arcadia University and LaSalle University).
