Pears are a favorite fruit, and also a theme I like to experiment with not only with cooking and baking but also in capturing through a use of photography and also oil painting. Here is one in a series of digitally altered photographs I created, in this case I've used a vignette to emphasize the beautiful bright yellow color and the interesting yet simple shape of these favorite foods.

My fascination with creating art began as a child at the age of five, drawing with oil pastels and painting with acrylics. I still recall the great fun I had playing with paint at the easel in kindergarten, just wanting that opportunity to go on forever. Thankfully I have never lost the thrill of having a paint brush in my hand. As a young person, I took art classes throughout elementary and high school, and then continued with classes in drawing, painting and photography at the college level (Boston University, Arcadia University and LaSalle University).
