First opened in 1877, this gorgeous building is the oldest active shopping gallery in the city of Milan, the undisputed fashion capital of Italy and considered one of the major forces in the world for this exciting industry (along with Paris and New York City). Housed within a four-story double arcade in the center of town, this building is named after Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of the kingdom of Italy. Housing boutiques for many famous clothing designers as well as fine restaurants, it is an enchanting must see attraction for anyone visiting this historic and yet, still, very vibrant city. I visited this absolutely stunning building with my family this past summer and although the shops were already closed (it was early evening when we arrived), we had a wonderful delicious dinner and were able to enjoy the ambiance of all the high-end designer window facades.

My fascination with creating art began as a child at the age of five, drawing with oil pastels and painting with acrylics. I still recall the great fun I had playing with paint at the easel in kindergarten, just wanting that opportunity to go on forever. Thankfully I have never lost the thrill of having a paint brush in my hand. As a young person, I took art classes throughout elementary and high school, and then continued with classes in drawing, painting and photography at the college level (Boston University, Arcadia University and LaSalle University).
